Big Wheels Roll back to Franklin

Join us for a fun event to mark Library Card Signup Month

Going Places with the Library!

Please join us for the second annual Big Wheels at the Franklin Community Library on Saturday, September 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will have over two dozen vehicles of all shapes and sizes for kids of all ages.

Last year’s event drew people from all over Sacramento County to the Library’s spacious 60,000-square-foot parking lot for a day of festivities. In fact, it was so successful we are doing it again.

Elk Grove, CA -- Nat Brown belts out "Reconsider, Baby" in his great performance at "A History of the Blues" concert sponsored by the City of Elk Grove. In 2007, Nat was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Todd Morgan "Great Balls of Fire!"

Elk Grove, CA -- Todd Morgan kicks it at "A Musical History of the Blues" with his performance of Jerry Lee Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire." This 22-year-old Carmichael artist is also the show's Musical Director who plays around town with his band, the Emblems.

Come join in for “Paint the Towne, Old Elk Grove,” with David Peterson Students of all levels will come to this workshop prepared to paint outdoors, or at least sketch outdoors and paint later in the class room from sketches David will present a brief lecture followed by a demo After the demo the class will work outdoors making a design sketch and then paint a half sheet watercolor David will be available for personal assistance We will finish up with our paintings in the studio and will assemble for a critique 30 minutes before dismissal The point of the class is to practice painting fast and loose from life!
