Sheldon High School alum and America’s Got Talent finalist David Garibaldi paints to support music p

Have you ever wanted to own something iconic?  Unique?  Original?

Here’s your chance!  Sheldon High School alum and America’s Got Talent finalist David Garibaldi will create and raffle up to six original works of art to raise money for the Sheldon Band Boosters and the Sheldon Visual and Performing Arts Academy.  All proceeds raised from the raffle will benefit these organizations.

Raffle tickets are $5 each or seven for $30.  Tickets can be purchased at Sheldon High School’s main office Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. or online through PaySchools

Raffle winners will be invited to attend the assemblies where Garibaldi will be producing their paintings live on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Sheldon High School’s Performing Arts Center.

Enjoy Tchaikovsky’s famous ballet, "The Nutcracker" this holiday season. Capitol Ballet Company and Stockton Ballet School will be presenting this classic this December.

Performances will be in both Stockton and Sacramento.

The Stockton show will be on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at San Joaquin Delta College, 5151 Pacific Avenue in Stockton. Ticket Box Office number is 209-954-5110.

The Sacramento show will be on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at Sheldon High School, 8333 Kingsbridge Drive, Sacramento, CA 95829. Ticket Box Office number is 916-484-1188.

In the winter of 1846-1847, wagon travel across the Sierra Nevada was a dangerous proposition and more than 80 emigrants became trapped in the Sierra snow.  Of course we know them as the Donner Party, but the travelers included individuals and many different families. Did you know that the snowbound emigrants lived in two separate camps almost five miles apart? Sutter’s Fort was their destination and became their only hope of survival. 

Emeritus Senior Living “Free Rent” Talent Contest Winner Announced

Non-profit organization 3in4 Association, its spokesperson Dr. Marion Somers, and Emeritus Senior Living announced the winner of its national senior talent competition on Friday, Nov. 9 – who promptly donated his prize to a neighbor in need. Nat Brown, 73, competed against 300 seniors nationwide to win a year-long stay at an Emeritus senior living community – worth $50,000. 11 runners-up received week-long stays.
