Sheldon High School Animation wins National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences award

Sheldon High School’s K9 Studios has been selected as a recipient of the 2012-2013 Regional Student Television Award for Merit in the Music Video category by the Board of Governors of the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).

Entries for the Regional Student Television Awards were submitted by high schools with media programs from Northern California, Reno, Nevada and Hawaii for work completed during the 2012-2013 school year.

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary Sacramento Music Festival happening over Memorial Day Weekend in Sacramento, Skip’s Music will welcome a number of the valley’s greatest musical artists on stage on Saturday evening, May 25, at 5 p.m.

Local Filipino School - Eskwela Natin Grand Opening

SACRAMENTO, CA – Eskwela Nation, a Filipino School will have their grand opening this Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Community Room in the Sacramento County Human Resources Building. Come learn more about the school and support our Filipino-American youth!

Philippine Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr.  will be also attending the grand opening of Eskwela Natin, our Filipino School, the first Filipino American Cultural School in Northern California and located in Sacramento.

He will be cutting the ribbon to officially open the school following a short program of greetings, proclamations, patriotic songs and brief remarks by the Consul General and local officials. He will be accompanied by Consul Reichel Quinones.

3rd Annual Arts Alive! event returns to Cosumnes Oaks High School

On Thursday, May 9, Cosumnes Oaks High School and Elizabeth Pinkerton Middle School will open their doors to the public to showcase their visual and performing arts programs with their annual Arts Alive! event.  This year, Arts Alive! will expand from the Cosumnes Oaks High School Performing Arts Center and Black Box Theater to include displays in the library, art quad and school’s newest facility, the rHouse.

The annual Arts Alive! event will feature projects and performances from the following departments: art, ceramics, dance, graphic design, instrumental music, vocal music, photography and theater.
