Contest Seeks “Scairy Tales” Scarecrow Entries | Community
Fashion a scarecrow honoring your favorite fairy tale for the 18th annual Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival and you could earn more than just magic beans. The Festival is currently accepting entries for its annual scarecrow contest. All entries will be on display at Elk Grove Park during the Festival held the first weekend in October (October 6-7).
Prize money, as much as $250 for first place, will be awarded in four categories: Family/Group, Youth Open (individuals 12 and under), Teen Open (individuals 13-17) and Adult Open (individuals 18 and up). Additional prizes will be awarded for Best Use of Theme and People’s Choice categories.
All entries must be appropriate for a family audience. Entry forms and the $10 entry fee are due September 28. Entry forms and a copy of the rules and regulations are available on the festival’s page at http://www.yourcsd.com/pumpkinfestival/. The 18th annual Elk Grove GIANT Pumpkin Festival is produced by the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) Parks and Recreation Department. Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
