Fireworks Booth to Benefit Pirate’s Island Rebuild

Fireworks Booth to Benefit Pirate’s Island Rebuild

If you’re planning on celebrating with fireworks this Fourth of July, purchase your fun at the Pirate’s Island Partners’ fireworks booth.  Come out to visit the booth June 28 through July 4, 10am-10pm in the Cosumnes CSD parking lot (8820 Elk Grove Boulevard).  All proceeds will go towards the rebuilding of Pirate’s Island Playground in Elk Grove Park.

Pirate’s Island was originally built on the island in Elk Grove Park in the 1970’s.  Many long time residents hold onto special memories of playing on the ship wreck play structure.  Unfortunately, the playground was demolished in the mid 1980’s because it did not meet safety standards.  Now a group of volunteers called Pirate’s Island Partners are working together to rebuild a new playground where the old playground once stood.
