LET'S GET DRESSED.

LET'S GET DRESSED.

One simple change you can make to drastically improve your health is to remove any and all processed sauces, dips and dressings from your diet.  Store-bought dressings in particular are often lacking in nutrients and fiber, and are high in unpronounceable preservatives, salt, sugar and unnecessary, unhealthy fats (and can taste artificial).

Try this super easy and quick formula for making your own amazing salad dressings, dips and sauces.  Have fun, play with the ingredients.  The possibilities are endless!

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Don't forget your sunscreen!

Sunscreen...a necessary essential all year long, but especially now.  Before you head to the beach or even your own backyard, double check your sunscreen for an expiration date.  If it has expired, get a fresh bottle.

Don't forget to cover the tops of your feet, your toes and your hands.  Slather up and enjoy your wonderful summer!

ORANGE IS MY NEW SNACK!

ORANGE IS MY NEW SNACK!

Small tomatoes fresh from the garden.  Crisp bell peppers and chips.  Carrot chips!  They are a great compliment to any meal, right out of the bag or steamed for a few minutes.  You can find them in your produce section of your market.  The next time you are shopping for your veggies for the week, take your time to see what is new in your local grocery store or farmer's market.  Pre-cut jicama is a great time saver.  Snap peas, already washed and ready to go.  Add color and have fun while eating clean and healthy.

From day-cations to longer vacations - one thing is certain - we generally have a wide variety of activites on the itenerary and anything that can go wrong... will. I have found in my moderately short time as mom that the key to stress free travel with kids is packing well and planning for both comfort and convenience. Sacrificing one for the other usually only results in an unhappy camper and I will be damned if that unhappy camper is going to be me. I have rounded up my tried and true list of things that I don't leave home without when we hit the road. Whether you are planning on adventuring to a theme park or spending hours on end at the beach this summer, or both, this list will come in handy... Read More
