Alicia Kozakiewicz, Founder of the Alicia Project, uses her own personal tragedy to help better prepare young people to protect themselves and their peers.Kozakiewicz whom was rescued by authorities after being abducted facilitates the annual National Child Abuse Prevention Month Poster Contest the first quarter of ever year to provoke dialogue and thought in the class room about personal safety.

Students of all ages are encouraged to illustrate their own concept and ideas regarding what being safe looks and feels like.Teachers surround project participation with helpful tips and time to talk about what kids can do to protect themselves from preditors.Posters are recognized with certificates and awards with winning entries being displayed at opening ceremonies in Sacramento,CA.

Join News10 & Raley’s Food For Families ‘Day of Giving’ Today

Join News10  & Raley’s Food For Families ‘Day of Giving’ Today

When: Today -  December 21st, 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm

Where: Bel Air on Arena Blvd in Natomas

Why: News10’s Monica Woods will be broadcasting live from Bel Air in North Natomas to encourage viewers to donate to hungry families in the area.

Viewers can join News10 and purchase a $10 bag of wholesome, nonperishable, fresh food and Raley’s will double the contribution to $20 benefiting local food banks. Donors can personally select where they want their donation to go, ensuring that 100% of their contribution will feed the hungry in their neighborhood.

Donate on-line during the ‘Day of Giving’  by going to raleys.com or Raley’s facebook page and Raley’s will donate an additional bag for each bag received!
