Gary Dreher Summer Classic | Life

The 22nd annual Gary Dreher Summer Classic (Gary Dreher is the former Elk Grove High School baseball coach who died several years ago) gets underway today and it’s your chance to see some excellent high school baseball……over the next three days 17 games will be played featuring some of the best teams in Northern California……….Perennial powerhouse Elk Gove High School will serve as the host but Franklin and Laguna Creek will also take part as will Woodland, Rocklin, Salinas. Santa Cruz and Valley Christian……Games will begin this morning at Elk Grove High School---4 in all with a matchup of the locals----Franklin and Laguna Creek at 9am-----followed by games at noon, 3pm, and 6pm……..Friday  they’ll step it up with two games being played on both fields at Elk Grove at noon, 3pm, and 6pm and then Saturday five more games will be played before the championship game set for 6pm…….it will be hot but it will also be entertaining as most of these are teams will  in all likelihood be playing for the section championship next spring----Enjoy!
