Artificial Turf at Bartholomew | Life

Elk Grove is so lucky to have a great facility in Bartholomew Sports Park...........whether it's baseball-softball--soccer---football---or lacrosse "Bart", as those who use it refer to it, is great........case in point----last night my 13 year old son was scheduled to have both baseball and soccer practice..........the baseball practice got rained out but the soccer practice was on since it was on  field #2 at Bart------an artificial turf field.........come summer those artificial turf fields may not be an athlete's friend when the on field temperature can be close to 115 degrees but on a wet winter day it's perfect.........the athletes may get soaked but they can still get in a good practice and they do no damage to the field (look at a grass field after a soccer game in the rain and you'll truly appreciate the difference).........for years we looked with envy at other communities with multi pruporse artificial fields------now we are the ones who are envied.
