Elk Grove head-on crash kills 1 driver, injures 2 | News

ELK GROVE, CA - A young man is dead after his Kia Rio slammed into oncoming traffic at Bradshaw Road and Ridgerock Drive just before noon Tuesday, police say.

Elk Grove police spokesman Officer Chris Trim said the 2003 Kia was traveling on southbound Bradshaw when for an unknown reason, it drifted into the northbound lane, colliding with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan.

The Kia driver was in his late teens or early 20s, Trim said. The victim's name has not been released.

The driver of the minivan and his female passenger suffered major injuries but were expected to live, Trim said.
