Head-on collision leads to one driver's death | News

ELK GROVE, CA - A head on traffic collision in Elk Grove led to the death of one man late Thursday morning.

Elk Grove Police officers responded to a vehicle collision report and found that a 2003 Kia Rio had crossed into on-coming traffic and collided head-on with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.

The collision occurred on Bradshaw Road near the intersection of Ridgerock Drive.

The male driver and female passenger of the Dodge Caravan suffered major injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The male driver of the Kia Rio suffered major injuries and died at the scene.

Officers were unable to determine why the Rio crossed into on-coming traffic.

The collision is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.
