Grant Line Road Closure This Weekend | Public Spaces
Elk Grove, CA -- A portion of Grant Line Road will be closed this weekend to finish a pavement overlay project that will reduce traffic noise and provide a safer driving surface.
The project has required the closure of portions of Grant Line Road 24 hours a day on the weekends of Oct. 6 and Oct. 13. Due to lower-than-expected evening temperatures, a third weekend has been added to the construction schedule to complete the project.
Grant Line Road will be closed beginning Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5:30 a.m. and will reopen again by Monday, Oct. 22 at 5:30 a.m.
The joint project between the City of Elk Grove and Sacramento County will resurface the entire width of Grant Line Road between Mosher Road and Elk Grove Blvd., including all approaches at the intersection of Elk Grove Blvd. The existing pavement has surpassed its life expectancy and has become prone to potholes.
Detours will be clearly marked. Message signs will alert motorists in advance of the road closure before work begins. Access for emergency services and public services will be maintained at all times. Businesses and residents will be notified in advance of the work and flaggers will assist residents and businesses with access to their properties as needed. Maps of the closures and recommended detours are below. Motorists are encouraged to take Bond Road to Highway 99.
