Holiday Shop Elk Grove Kicks Off Black Friday

Elk Grove, CA - Beginning Black Friday, more than 45 local businesses will be offering incentives and prizes for shopping locally this holiday season.

The annual Think, Shop, Live Elk Grove Holiday Shopping Program kicks off on November 25.  Shoppers in Elk Grove can enter to win a $2,000 grand prize or dozens of other prizes from local businesses.

Shoppers can enter to win prizes by visiting any of the participating locations, filling out a raffle entry form and dropping it in the holiday bag.  The more stores a shopper visits, the more opportunities are available to win prizes.

Free Weekend Transit Service, New Routes Offered to Promote Local Holiday Shopping

Elk Grove, CA – To help make local holiday shopping more convenient, the City of Elk Grove will be offering free weekend transit service and new routes during the holiday season for e-tran passengers.

From Black Friday to New Years Eve, the City will be offering free weekend rides on local fixed routes and free local Paratransit services on November 25-27, December 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, 24 and 31.  Weekend fixed route service is available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekend Paratransit service is available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

To complement the free local weekend service, the local fixed route service has been expanded to include e-tran routes 157 and 162.  These added routes are designed to reach shopping, dining and entertainment establishments throughout Elk Grove.
