Donate suits to underprivileged women at Dressbarn Feb. 24

ELK GROVE - Women's clothing retailer Dressbarn and non-profit organization Dress for Success have partnered to host their 9th annual "Send One Suit Weekend (S.O.S.)."

Every year, Dress for Success issues an SOS to women to donate your nearly new suits to help a deserving woman on her journey to self-sufficiency. Thousands of underprivileged women find themselves lacking the most elementary tool in obtaining a job: a proper interview suit or professional-looking outfit.

From Thursday, Feb. 24 - Sunday, Feb. 27, women wanting to donate can drop off their new and gently used suits and business attire, to the Dressbarn store in Elk Grove, located at 9630 Bruceville Road, #102, or any Dressbarn store in your local area, and you will receive a coupon for 15 percent off your entire purchase as a "Thank you."

Pet owners get financial break

Sacramento and Yolo County pet owners can now apply to have their pets spayed or neutered for just $20 per dog and $15 per cat as part of “Spay Day Sacramento” on March 6.  This is a savings of 90 percent or more on this routine, but important veterinary procedure.  Spaying or neutering dogs and cats leads to better health and improved behavior and reduces the number of animals entering area shelters.

Qualifying pet owners must be either Sacramento or Yolo County residents and have an annual household income of $35,000 or less.  There is a 2 animal (dog and/or cat) limit per household.  Proof of income will be required.
