Youth Flag Football Accepting Registration Through August 1

Elk Grove, CA – Don’t miss your child’s chance to play flag football in a fun recreational environment.  Registration for the Cosumnes Community Services District’s fall season of Youth Flag Football will run through August 1, 2011.  Players must meet age requirement by league clinic day, August 13.

The league is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5-13 with four age divisions, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-13.  League play teaches the fundamentals of football, good sportsmanship and teamwork.  Each player receives a jersey, team and individual picture, as well as a trophy.

League play is scheduled on Saturdays from September 10 through November 5 between the hours of 9 a.m.

The professionals are beginning to practice, but it is time for your team to come out and play. Registration for the Cosumnes Community Services District’s Adult League Flag Football will begin on July 11 through July 22nd.

World Team Tennis comes to Sacramento!

World Team Tennis comes to Sacramento with the meeting of the Sacramento Capitals and the Washington Kastles.  They will meet in a series of matches between Eastern and Western Conference Championship powerhouses that feature Serena Williams in singles and doubles competition at Capitals Stadium, Sunrise Mall.

The California Automobile Museum in Sacramento, California, formerly the Towe Auto Museum is a very diverse collection of vehicles spanning many types and eras of automobile production.  There is something for every auto enthusiast to enjoy.  Displays range from the earliest vehicles produced by Ford to the latest types of alternative energy powered cars, foreign and domestic.  Many cars are on loan to the museum and some are available for sale.  If you love cars, this museum is a must see!

ELK GROVE - The professionals are beginning to practice, but it is time for your team to come out and play.  Registration for the Cosumnes Community Services District’s Adult League Flag Football will begin on July 11. 

Registration for the leagues will run through July 22.  For a team registration fee of $625, each team is guaranteed a minimum of seven games.  Late registration is $645, July 23-26 and will be accepted depending on available space in the league.

Adult Flag Football will run August 2 through September 28.  League play is 8 on 8, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.  All games will take place at Bartholomew Sports Park on the artificial turf field.

Teams must pre-register by mail or in person. Priority registration is offered, July 11-15, to teams returning from the Spring 2011 season.

Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc., a 501c3, is seeking civic minded applicants for its Board of Directors.  Individuals who have a passion for the vital role parks and recreation play in a healthy community are encouraged to apply.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside within the boundaries of the Cordova Recreation and Park District, and be willing to commit to a least a one year term.

Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc. promotes and supports recreation activities, park improvements, facility use, and cultural well being of the community within the boundaries of the Cordova Recreation and Park District.  Cordova Recreation and Park District is an independent special district serving the City of Rancho Cordova, Mather, Gold River, Anatolia, Stone Creek, Larchmont, and Rosemont communities.   The Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc.
