Elk Grove, CA – The 56th annual Elk Grove Western Festival is coming to town this weekend, offering three days of fun for the entire family May 3-5.

On Saturday, a parade – which begins in Old Town and makes its way to Elk Grove Regional Park – will feature everything from classic cars and bands, to floats and horses.

The following street closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4:

Elk Grove, CA – This March, the Elk Grove Police Department will host an innovative simulated distracted driving program aimed at educating teens about driving safety.

We are currently seeking 100 teenaged drivers to participate in the “3D: Distracted Driving Demonstration” program during the week of March 25-29, 2013.  Twenty students per day, during two different time periods, will participate in the distracted driving demonstrations on a closed driving course.  Teens will participate in several driving scenarios while performing other task such as, using a smart phone to text or talk, applying makeup, eating, reaching for items in the car, etc. 

ELK GROVE, CA – The Elk Grove Police Department will be conducting a Sobriety/Drivers License checkpoint on Friday, November 23, 2012 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
