In the local forecast, all good things must come to an end and that goes for the 70 degree temperatures.

A shift in the jet stream will allow temperatures to cool during the next few days. Monday's highs will range from the mid to upper 60s under mostly sunny skies, according to News10 meteorologist Darla Givens.

Winds in the valley will be around 10 degrees. Stronger winds are expected in the Sierra and there is a Lake Wind Advisory in effect for the Tahoe Basin from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday. Givens said winds will be from the west at 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts to 30 miles per hour.

A trough makes it way out of the Gulf of Alaska later in the week. Moisture will be limited, but cool temperatures will linger.

SACRAMENTO, CA -- More fog will give us a "soupy" start Friday and will lead to hazy afternoon conditions. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 1 p.m. throughout the valley and toward the Delta.

News10 Meteorologist Monica Woods says the fog will slowly thin to a haze a bit later on in the day. Highs will only reach the low to upper 50s.

Wood burning is prohibited in Sacramento County.

Woods says the Foothills and Sierra will see ample sunshine through Friday. Highs will be in the 60s for the hills and 50s for the Sierra.

Fog will be a little less noticeable this weekend. Woods says Saturday will start with some patchy fog in the valley then partly cloudy skies are expected through the day as a weak disturbance heads inland.

Rain and snow are expected Sunday.

Northwest winds and patchy low clouds overnight lead to Thursday morning's foggy conditions during the commute. But skies cleared and the sun will be shining by afternoon as a high pressure ridge builds in across the state, according to News10 meteorologist Mellisa Paul.

Highs for Thursday will be near 60 and north winds will calm throughout the day leading to a foggy Friday forecast in the valley. But the fog should clear late in the day Friday for an afternoon of sunshine and highs remaining near 60.
